of 16 on local outcrops. 15 years later he is now an International Mountain
Guide and has climbed and guided all over Europe and enjoyed trips to
the Himalayas and Antarctica.
During this period Bruce has been involved in all types of mountain activity.
At home he has made a number of first winter ascents. He has also been
a regular visitor to the Alps, both summer and winter on foot and on skis.
He has guided in Nepal and in Antarctica while working for the British
Antarctic Survey and Adventure Network International. He has guided the
Vinson Massif Antarctica's Highest Mountain four times.
His enjoyment of all aspects of mountain sports is reflected in his year
