TRIPLEPOINT/TRIPLEPOINT CERAMIC GARMENTS VENTING TECHNOLOGY

Venting heat and vapour by stopping and removing layers is easily done if you are strolling up a mountain path, but not if you're front-pointing up a precarious ice slope. Moreover, wearing a pack and climbing harness further hinders the breathing process by obstructing air circulation. This is why many of our garments incorporate elaborate ventilation features. Now you can vent heat and vapor without having to stop to remove layers.

The three ventilation modes and specific venting features are listed for you to click:
3 Venting modes
Swivel sight hood
Watershed seamless shoulders
Double storm flapped front zip
Pit zips
Articulated elbows
Adjustable cuffs and gusset
Venting pockets
Hideaway drawcords

3 Venting Modes:
  • MAXIMUM HEAT RETENTION
  • Front zip fully closed
  • Hood raised and secured
  • Waist and hem drawcords cinched
  • Cuffs tabbed shut
  • STANDARD VENTING
  • Hood stowed front zip open at neck
  • Waist and hem drawcords and cuffs loosened to induce 'chimney effect'
  • FULL VENTING
  • Front zip open at top and bottom
  • Pit zip vents fully open
  • Pocket vents fully open - increases torso cooling

Swivel Sight Hood
When deployed and fitted (captive toggles allow one-handed adjustment), the Swivel Sight hood will protect you even in the worst of storms. Vision will not be impaired as you look from side to side because of the generous cut of material in the neck area. Toggle volume adjustment ensures a good fit whether or not you're wearing a helmet.

Watershed Seamless Shoulders
The seamless shoulder design sheds water fast and relocates seams to less vulnerable areas for greater comfort and durability.

Double Storm-Flapped Front Zip
A double storm flap, secured by snap studs and hook/loop, shields the front zip from wind and rain. The zip is two-way, so you can open the jacket progressively from top or bottom to aid ventilation.

Pit Zips
Pit zips vent the upper arm area when it's impractical to stop and remove the jacket, such as when snow-and-ice climbing. At other times, storm flaps ensure complete weather protection. Hook/loop tabs hold the storm flaps open when full venting is required.

Articulated Elbows
Additional fabric at the elbow promotes freedom of movement when repeatedly bending the arm from a stretched position, such as when climbing icefalls.

Adjustable Cuffs & Gusset
A hook/loop tab allows rapid cuff closure and adjustment, even when wearing bulky mitts. The elasticated cuff reduces heat loss without impeding circulation at the wrist. To ventilate the sleeve, open the cuff to its fullest extent and secure using the secondary hook/loop strip.

Venting Pockets
Ventilation via the mesh chest pockets allows air to circulate around the top half of the torso. When using the pockets in this mode, fold back the flaps and tab into place to improve airflow. When the pockets are closed, a double storm flap ensures waterproof integrity.

Hideaway Drawcords
Waist and hem drawcords control the 'chimney' effect, which aids ventilation. Pull to warm up, release to cool down. Simple as that. Concealed toggles and cords won't flap in the wind or tangle around harnesses.
