Web Catcher

Back in the Sixties, Lowe Alpine revolutionised pack design by introducing the plastic buckle. Today the plastic buckle comes as standard but Lowe Alpine has bucked the trend again by introducing a new alloy buckle.

Why? Because we believe that buckles need to be lighter, tougher and more secure than ever before. We are taking advantage of technologies developed by hardware manufacturers and integrating them into our own product design.

There are two new alloy buckles – the Load Locker and the Web Catcher. The Load Locker is a closure device for securing pack lids. It is hooked in position quickly and then locked for security. It is especially easy to use with gloves and mitts.

The Web Catcher is a parallel design used in ski attachment systems, giving fast and secure positioning onto packs.

These buckles are 18% lighter than their plastic equivalent. Furthermore, by using a T6 alloy they are very, very strong - karabiner strength in fact and once in position our alloy buckles lock in place making them much more secure.
